Currently, Boyko is a first-year PhD student in Bioinformatics at University of California, San Diego. Previously, Boyko earned a B.S. in Mathematics and M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University. At Stanford, Boyko worked on applying machine learning to problems in biology. Work done with Prof. Daphne Koller, her student, and collaborators, aimed to predict protein complexes in yeast from multiple sources of noisy data such as high-throughput assays. Another project started from a collaboration between Prof. Sebastian Thrun and Dr. Helen Blau aimed to reconstruct the genealogy of pluripotent stem cells from time-lapse microscope images.
